this problem has existed in one form or another on every version of multipar I could try, dating back to 1.1.6.8
using quickpar on this particular par2 results in a successful verification/rejoining of the splits.  I've included the multipar log and the par2 (if it is helpful).
you'll notice on the 2nd check within the log, this is where i have previously run quickpar to fix the files thus showing no repair needed.
thanks.

There might be a bug in pattern matching to search similar name files. The log show a systematic numbering result. "soul-doa2hc.001" was splited to "soul-doa2hc.001.001", "soul-doa2hc.001.002" ... "soul-doa2hc.001.007". "soul-doa2hc.002" shuld have been splited to "soul-doa2hc.002.001", "soul-doa2hc.002.002" ... "soul-doa2hc.002.007". But, "soul-doa2hc.001.002" was detected instead of "soul-doa2hc.002.001" oddly. I will test and check the code.

BTW, MultiPar does not simple re-join by number, but verify all similar name files. Thus, when you know that you have splited files, normal file split/join software would be much faster to join.

quickpar was used to split the files, and can be used successfully to rejoin the files. I am unable to use 'normal split/join software' because this contains no error checking and no parity support.
point being multipar should be able to do what quickpar does easily. speed of rejoining not being the issue, I'm just wanting the data recovery.

I found a bug in using previous verification data. To find splited files of "soul-doa2hc.002", pattern matching "soul-doa2hc*.002*" is used. After both "soul-doa2hc.001.002" and "soul-doa2hc.002.001" are found, the result of "soul-doa2hc.001.002" at previous "soul-doa2hc.001" is miss-used. I fixed this bug at next version. I improved the matching a little to avoid miss-detect non-split files, too. (files with non-number extension will be ignored.) If you want to test, cannot wait next release, or need the fixed version as soon as possible, send mail to me.
