Hopefully there is an XML language file that has all the words and phrases from the UI, where you can just simply translate each word and phrase. If not, we may need to add that as a feature request.

MultiPar GUI uses DLLs for language specific resource. You may modify not only words and phrases, but whole looks (text, size, layout, font) of each dialog. This system is because the required space of phrase is varied by the language. You need a tool like, Windows SDK by Microsoft or something Resource Hacker. If you send mail to notify what tool you use and which language to translate, I will send basic resource script or sample DLL for the language.

Italian language UI (translated by Botta) is available now. Additional DLLs for v1.1.7.3 can be downloaded from this forum. They will be included in later version.

The Dutch translation is now public within my Dutch internet community FTD. Filled Threads Database has over 80.000 members of which a small group of members will potentially use MultiPar actively. With actively I mean to use MultiPar for both verify/repair AND creating Par archive's.

Sincerely,

William

Advertisement image I made for the release posting in my community:

It says MultiPar has Par3 support and is in the Dutch language.
Made it look like this because there is not very much color in the MultiPar GUI (and I like it to stay that way too!)

Because v1.1.9.6 was the last release of v1.1.9 tree, I post additional DLLs for MultiPar v1.1.9.6 here. Simplified Chinese language UI (translated by Donghui Li) is newly available. Dutch language UI was updated after the last release. Next v1.2.0 tree will contain them, too.

I can't help you with the translation as I'm not a French speaker, but I think this may help:
Quote from: From MultiPar's help file
When "Powers of 2 sizing scheme" or "Decimal weights sizing scheme" is selected, the number of recovery blocks in each recovery files will be "1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128..." or "1,1,2,5,10,10,20,50..."

Thank you for effort of translation. You don't need to translate all text perfectly. If you worry about something, just leave the part. Ancient wisemen said, "Rome was not built in a day." Even if you write a complete text, I may update GUI sometimes, and it will become obsolete. I trace every change and syncronize all UI DLLs at each public release. When I add new text, I will ask to translators before last release.

You may read [Support] subject on MultiPar ReadMe/Help. (writing address here directly will cause more spam mails.) If you want to notice your name in comment, write what you want to be shown also. Though English UI does not contain translator's name, others may have a comment like "Translated by Someone". If you want to be secret anonymous, I don't add that comment.

If MultiPar is made into open source, and added to a revision control system, it can become part of TranslateWiki.net. That would greatly raise awareness about MultiPar, as well as help to get it translated into all of the world's languages.

http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Translating:New_project

Far too few people are using MultiPar. Everyone should use it for all of their important data. They don't even know that they NEED MultiPar. Becoming accepted as a TranslateWiki.net project would be a very good step in ensuring the world knows about MultiPar.

According to the size of their project list, I don't think the TranslateWiki.net itself is more well known than MultiPar. And MultiPar is not a huge project that requires multiple translators for one language IMHO.
Speaking of translations, the current way for translations involves binary editing. Text like language files might be easier for both editing and maintaining. But that's no big deal.

I think the real problem is far too few people are using parchive. Well, parchive has been around for almost ten years, it's not easy to raise the popularity all of sudden. It probably doesn't have too much to do with localizations, QuickPar is one of the most used parchive clients, it has lots of translations, but it is still not very well known.
I've been introducing MultiPar to the people around me since I came across this great software. Among them, I convert all those who are already using parchive to MultiPar users, very easily. But for those not using parchive, many of them are not interested, or prefer full backup (multiple copies if nessesary) of important data.

The one thing people are not aware of is that their backups are useless if they backup corrupted data. They do not know about silent data corruption, and I focus my efforts on making them aware that they have no way to verify if their data is really backed up or not. It's giving your money to the bank teller and not getting a receipt.
